With a walking time of around 5 hours and steep ascents and descents, it is ideal for experienced alpine hikers in good physical condition. Away from the well-known routes, it offers alpine solitude and spectacular views of the surrounding four-thousand-metre peaks.

Description
The hike over the Pfulwe is a challenging, high alpine day tour that will make every mountain lover's heart beat faster. It connects two valleys - Zermatt and Täsch - and leads through an impressive backdrop of mountain lakes, scree fields, alpine meadows and imposing rock faces. The Pfulwe Pass (3,155 m) is the highlight of the route: from here, the view extends far over the Findel Glacier to the highest peaks in Switzerland.
On request, this route can also be booked as a two-day tour with an overnight stay in the Fluhalp or Täschhütte - ideal for those who want to extend the experience.
Program
Your hiking guide or mountain guide will greet you early in the morning at the valley station in Zermatt for the cable car journey via Sunnegga to Blauherd.
The start of the hike leads past the Stellisee lake over the Fluhalp up to the Pfulwe Pass at 3,155 metres.
After the highest point, the descent begins through the quiet Mellichbach valley to Täschalp - a remote valley full of scenic diversity.
From Täschalp, the tour continues downhill either by taxi or on foot to the village of Täsch, where the train takes you back to Zermatt.
