Together with your hiking guide, you will discover snow-covered forests, untouched slopes and enjoy the feeling of freedom in the snow. You don't need any previous experience - just a love of being outdoors.

Description

You meet your hiking guide and discuss where your snowshoe tour should take you - according to your wishes and your level. Perhaps you'll head through the fairytale-like Swiss stone pine forest towards GrĂ¼nsee, off-piste along the Gornergrat or even up to Schwarzsee. Step by step, you will immerse yourself in the tranquil winter world around Zermatt - an impressive experience for beginners and advanced skiers alike.


Program

Your hiking guide will meet you at the ZERMATTERS home base at the time of your choice. On site, you will equip yourselves with the necessary equipment and discuss the route

During approx. 3 hours you will explore the winter wonderland of Zermatt - not only snowshoeing, but also the surrounding scenery and the feeling of winter sports

Return to Zermatt and say goodbye

Additional costs

  • Rental equipment (snowshoes, avalanche transceiver and poles): CHF 15.00 per person, available at the ZERMATTERS Homebase
  • Any train rides (with the Gornergrat Bahn or Zermatt Bergbahnen AG, depending on the route)

Material

So that you are well equipped for your snowshoe adventure, you should definitely have this equipment with you:


  • Good waterproof hiking boots
  • Small backpack, max. 30 liters
  • Comfortable, warm and waterproof hiking clothes
  • Water and windproof jacket
  • Hat / headband
  • Sunglasses and sun cream
  • Warm drinks
  • Snacks (high-energy food such as chocolate, dried fruit)

Snowshoes, poles, shovel, probe and avalanche transceiver: can be hired from ZERMATTERS

Insurance is the responsibility of the participant. We recommend valid accident and evacuation insurance.
