From here, the main route takes you directly towards Zmutt: via Stafelalp, the trail leads through alpine landscapes past impressive glacier views. From Zmutt, the descent follows the varied Kalbermatten Trail (Yo-Yo), past the hamlet of Herbrig and over the Bodmen back to Zermatt. A real highlight for experienced bikers.

What bike experiences does ZERMATTERS offer?
Whether flow trail, enduro adventure or technique training - we offer guided tours, bike courses and tailor-made mountain biking experiences in Zermatt.
Enjoy the legendary flow trail from the Riffelberg down into the valley, experience challenging enduro sections around the Schwarzsee or work specifically on your riding technique to become safer and more efficient.
What is the advantage of a bike guide?
A bike guide from ZERMATTERS not only ensures a safe experience, but also makes your tour something very special. Our guides know all the trails around Zermatt - including their technical requirements - and choose exactly the route that suits your riding ability. At the same time, they will coach you specifically on the bike, help you improve your technique and provide you with exciting information about the region. This way you will experience maximum enjoyment on the right trail - with safety, fun and progress.
What is best for bike beginners?
If you have little experience on a bike, we recommend our basic technique course - ideal with a normal mountain bike. Alternatively, you can also hire an e-bike: This gives you much more freedom and allows you to explore the region in a relaxed manner. This is because many of the trails around Zermatt are steep - without an e-drive and riding technique, they can quickly become a challenge.
Do I need my own mountain bike?
You're welcome to bring your own bike to the course. If you don't have one or prefer riding a top-of-the-line model, Zermatt offers great rental options – for example at Slalom Sport, Matterhorn Sport or Bayard. That way, you're perfectly equipped for your biking adventure.
What is the difference between a tour and a technical course?
In our technique courses, the focus is on learning and refining riding techniques such as braking, cornering, overcoming obstacles and position on the bike. On tours, the focus is on the shared riding experience and exploring the beautiful surroundings here in Zermatt - we recommend an e-bike for this!
Are there tours that can only be done on an e-bike or only on a classic mountain bike?
Yes, for some tours the type of bike is decisive:
E-bike: In principle, we recommend all bike experiences with an e-bike. For the e-bike evening tour, you must have an e-bike - the focus here is on relaxed pleasure riding at sunset.
Classic mountain bike: Helibiking is only possible with a classic mountain bike - for technical and safety reasons.
Not sure what suits you? No problem - our team at Homebase will be happy to advise you personally.
Are there special offers for children?
Yes, there are also suitable bike offers for children in Zermatt. In the Kids Bike League, young bikers can gain their first experience on a bike in a fun and safe way. At various levels - from beginner to advanced - they learn technique, balance and off-road safety. The courses are age-appropriate and are supervised by trained bike guides. Ideal for introducing youngsters to mountain biking in a fun way.
In addition to the Kids Bike League, it is also possible to book a private bike guide for children, just like for adults.
