Lawinenkurs SMT2 Gruppe
Swiss Mountain Training 2 (SMT 2) provides in-depth knowledge of how to deal with avalanche risks. In this two-day course, you will learn how to plan tours safely, assess dangers and carry out rescues. Under the guidance of certified ZERMATTERS mountain guides, you will acquire the official certificate in accordance with the quality and safety standards of the Swiss Mountain Guide Association.
Description
The SMT 2 avalanche course builds directly on the basic training and deepens your knowledge of safety and risk management in alpine terrain. Over two days, each lasting around six hours, you will learn how to assess and manage avalanche risks under the guidance of a ZERMATTERS mountain guide.
On the first day, you will repeat the most important content from SMT 1, practise using an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, interpret the avalanche bulletin and plan your own tour. On the second day, you will apply your knowledge: You will deepen your knowledge of the 3×3 method, work with the graphic reduction method, learn to assess risks and carry out realistic rescue scenarios.
The course concludes with the Swiss Mountain Training Winter 2 certificate, recognized by the Swiss Mountain Guide Association (SBV). Prerequisites are the completion of Module 1 or equivalent experience and safe skiing on red slopes.
