ZERMATTERS

General Information

  • Unless explicitely agreed otherwise, these General Terms and Conditions shall apply to all business transactions between ZERMATTERS® and their customers. The company's business purposes are the operation of a snow sports and bike school, as well as the placement of mountain guides, hiking guides and paraglider pilots. Hereinafter, ski instructors, snowboard instructors, mountain guides, hiking guides, bike guides and paraglider pilots will be generally referred to as course instructors. 
  • Courses that have been paid for online are considered confirmed bookings.
  • The costs for using lifts or cable cars are not included in the rates for lessons or tours.
  • Any wishes and concerns regarding eating habits, medical needs etc. should be communicated in advance so that the course instructor can take the necessary measures.
  • ZERMATTERS® reserves the right to use any images for marketing purposes. You can revoke your permission to use and pass on data and images at any time by sending us a message to info@zermatters.ch.  All the data necessary to fulfil our business objectives will be treated confidentially.
  • ZERMATTERS® declines to assume any liability for accidents that occur during lessons, tours, examinations and competitions. Participants are solely responsible for arranging proper insurance. We recommend cancellation insurance as well as return transport insurance.
  • Claims for damages due to errors in illustrations, prices and texts are strictly excluded.
  • The prices quoted are in Swiss francs. If payment is made in Euros, the service provider's current exchange rate will be applied.
  • The place of performance shall be the headquarters of ZERMATTERS®. The place of jurisdiction shall be Zermatt and Swiss law shall apply.
  • The instructor cannot guarantee absolute safety from objective dangers in the mountains. The customer acknowledges and accepts the natural risk of any outdoor activity that remains despite careful and prudent management. The customer agrees to follow the instructions given by the instructor.
  • The course or tour is conducted in the name and on the account of the instructor.

Further Provisions (regarding climbing, hiking & flying activities)

  • The costs for transport, accommodation and meals (customer and instructor) are at the expense of the customer and are to be paid directly to the instructor.
  • A deposit of CHF 20.- will be charged for all tours (except for the Matterhorn tour).
  • A deposit of CHF 150.- will be charged for the Matterhorn tour.
  • Deposits will not be refunded in case the customer cancels the tour.
  • Deposits will be deducted from the total amount of the booking.

Cancellation Policy (regarding skiing, snowboarding & cycling activities)

  • Reservations must be cancelled with the course instructor or at the ZERMATTERS® office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the course. ZERMATTERS® will refund payments after deducting a CHF 20.- processing fee. After this period, ZERMATTERS® will, in any case, charge the full rate of the first day of the course as per the booking confirmation.
  • For refunding cancelled bookings, we will use the same means of payment that was used for the original transaction, unless explicitely agreed otherwise.
  • A booked course cannot be postponed..
  • ZERMATTERS® will not take back any unused course tickets.
  • Basically, every lesson or group course that has been started will be charged in full.
  • Refunds in case of accident or illness will be made from the second day of the course. Upon presentation of a certificate from a local doctor, ZERMATTERS® will refund 90% of the payment for the outstanding course.
  • ZERMATTERS® reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend a program or individual services after conclusion of contract and also during the activity, if required due to natural and/or weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances (force majeure, measures taken by government bodies, safety or other risks). In consultation with the customer, ZERMATTERS® shall compensate the customer for any lost teaching time arising as a result.
  • Group courses require are minimum of four (4) participants. If the group does not reach this number of participants, ZERMATTERS® reserves the right to merge groups, shorten courses, cancel courses at short notice or submit an alternative offer to the customer at an extra charge.

Cancellation Policy (regarding climbing, hiking & flying activities)

  • If the customer cancels a booked course up to 48 hours before the start of the course (also in the event of an accident or illness), ZERMATTERS® will retain the deposit as a processing fee.
  • If a cancellation is made after this period, the customer will be charged 50% of the total amount of the booking.
  • For refunding cancelled bookings, we will use the same means of payment that was used for the original transaction, unless explicitely agreed otherwise.
  • For tours lasting several days (from 3 days onwards) a deposit of 50% of the total amount of the booking will be charged. If the customer cancels such a tour under the above cancellation conditions, a processing fee of CHF 300.- will be retained in any case.
