Details

Schedule
You will meet your guide at the agreed place (Matterhorn Express/Sunnegga Express bottom station, depending on the actual tour) and time in the morning. Together, you'll take a cable car ride up to the ski resort, from where you will depart on your tour.
Registration
As early as possible, i. e. approximately 1 or 2 weeks in advance; short-term registration is possible subject to availability.
Insurance
All participants must arrange their own insurance (accident insurance and evacuation insurance in case of accidents that occur off-piste).
Requirements
Beginner: You are an experienced skier who would like to go off-piste  and learn how to ski safely in the backcountry.  This is your first ski tour (i. e. ascending on touring skis).
Advanced: You feel comfortable skiing off-piste in all kinds of snow (including deep powder) and have already done a few ski tours.

Please note
It goes without saying that we respect protected wildlife areas and won’t go skiing in wildlife habitats.
Equipment
Bring warm winter clothing and your freeride equipment (incl. shovel and probe). It’s also possible to rent freeride equipment in any of Zermatt’s sports shops.
