"Mammut" - Via Ferrata
A via ferrata is a climbing route secured with iron ladders, iron pins, clamps and ropes.
The iron placed in a via ferrata serves on the one hand for locomotion (additional grips and kicks) and on the other hand for self-belay with a so-called via ferrata set.
The Italian term for via ferrata literally means iron path and describes the character of modern via ferrata very well.
For beginners and children, there is an easier, first part with route A.

From June to October (depending on the conditions)
- With a private mountaine guide: daily
- In a group: Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
1–4 persons; max. 7 persons, children from 120cm

With a private mountain guide
- From CHF 420.00 for 1-3 persons, each additional person CHF 40.00
In a group:
- CHF From 120.00 (min. 4 persons, max. 7 persons)
Via ferrata set (climbing harness, via ferrata set, helmet, gloves), you can rent it directly at the ZERMATTERS office at the rate of CHF 15.00 per person
- Good shoes
- Appropriate clothing depending on weather conditions
- Small back pack
- Harness, helmet, gloves and via ferrata set
- Drink and snacks

Die Route C of the via ferrata Schweifinen leads over a wobbly swinging wire rope ladder into a vertical wall. There, you have to cross the wall with nothing else but hewn iron bars under your feet. A route with heartbeat guarantee.
