Summit tour in four days

Arrival and overnight stay in Zermatt. Briefing with your mountain guide at the ZERMATTERS Homebase at 5pm.

Day 1

8.30am Meeting point at the bottom station Matterhorn Express. The gondola will take you up to Klein Matterhorn at 3’817m. The ascent begins to the easiest 4000m peak, the Breithorn. After a further hour’s ascent to the Schwarztor, the descent takes you over the Schwärzegletscher to the Gornergletscher at 2‘500m. Roped to your guide, the last ascent for the day begins up to the Monte Rosa hut at 2‘882m.

Day 2

Bright an early … it’s still pitch black outside you start your day with your headlamps turned on walking up along the Lyskamm up towards Lisjoch at 4‘152m. You descent to the bottom of the Balmenhorn at 4‘167m. We leave the skis here and make our way up to the top of the peak.

Back at the ski depot you ski down to the Vincentpyramide, where the one hour hike starts. The day ends with the descent to the Gnifetti hut at 3‘625m. An Italian meal and glass of wine to finish off a brilliant day.

Day 3

Fresh and ready to tackle the next four thousand peaks for today: equipped with a light rucksack you make your way to Schwarzhorn/Corno Nero at 4‘322m, the Ludwigshöhe 4‘341m and the Parrotspitze 4‘339m. You finish off the day with the descent back to the Gnifetti hut at 3‘625m.

Day 4

With all your gear you make your way to the Signalkuppe – Punta Gnifetti 4‘554m. From here you do a little detour with your crampons to the Zumsteinspitze at 4‘563m.

The long awaited almost 3‘000 meter long descent to Zermatt lies ahead of you. What a finish?!

You have done various ski tours before, feel comfortable skiing in all kind of terrain. General alpine experience especially in crampon walking.

CHF 1'410.00 per person incl. 4 days mountain guide accompaniment, 3 overnight stays with half board.
