- Day 1: Zermatt – Berggasthaus Trift
We meet at ZERMATTERS Homebase in Zermatt (1,620 meters). The ascent through the Trift Valley finishes at the Berggasthaus Trift (2,337 meters), our first accommodation stop.
- Day 2: Berggasthaus Trift – Schönbielhütte
From the Höhbalmen and Hohliecht observation points at 2,675 meters, the trek continues across the lateral moraine of the Zmutt Glacier and on to our second mountain hut, the Schönbielhütte (2,694 meters).
- Day 3: Schönbielhütte – Hörnlihütte
Strikingly close to the north face of the Matterhorn, the group continues up to the Hörnlihütte at 3,260 meters. You spend at night at the Base, the starting point for most Matterhorn ascents.
- Day 4: Hörnlihütte – Gandegghütte
The group skirts the Furg Glacier at the foot of the Matterhorn as far as the Gandegghütte (3,030 meters), which commands impressively panoramic views of the Breithorn, Monte Rosa and the Gorner Glacier.
- Day 5: Gandegghütte – Zermatt
The glacier trek starts from the Gandegghütte and is led by a qualified ZERMATTERS mountain guide or you decide to climb the Breithorn (4,164 meters) (optional. Price upon request). Return to Zermatt (1,620 meters).
